Mulligans Flat Farm Adds Riva Selegg S61 Egg Grader
In July 2024, Mulligans Flat Farm, home of Bum Nuts Australia, took delivery of a Riva Selegg S61 egg grader — SX version.
Located at Sutton, NSW, on the border of New South Wales and the ACT, Mulligans Flat Farm has been practicing regenerative farming since 2019. Their approach is focused on producing real, wholesome food while improving soil health and caring for their animals.
The new Riva Selegg S61 will support the farm’s Bum Nuts egg operation by improving grading efficiency and consistency as production continues to grow. Designed for medium-sized egg producers, the S61 has capacity to grade up to 6,000 eggs per hour across two feeding lanes, with seven selectable weight classes. Completely mechanical and constructed in stainless steel, the S61 is built for years of reliable service with minimal maintenance.
Mulligans Flat Farm’s Isa Brown hens are managed using regenerative principles, with mobile housing and rotational grazing helping naturally fertilise pastures and support soil vitality. Their chickens roam open paddocks during the day, foraging on pasture, native plants, grubs and insects, producing what Mulligans Flat Farm proudly calls “bloody good eggs from pasture raised happy chooks”.

Alongside their eggs, Mulligans Flat Farm also produces farm-fresh vegetables and honey made by bees on the property. With the addition of the Riva Selegg S61, Mulligans Flat Farm is well equipped to continue supplying high-quality pasture-raised eggs to customers, retailers and wholesale partners across the Canberra and surrounding region.
